Learn to Play Hockey
(ages 3+) The Bellingham Sportsplex Hockey Academy Learn to play program is targeted for youth with little or no skating or hockey experience. Participants are required to wear full hockey gear. There is rental gear available through the Hockey Director. Our LTP hockey program is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey to beginning players. Each week builds off the previous week’s lesson and introduces a new hockey skill for the players to learn. Power skating, balance, and edge control are the primary focal points and will be practiced each week. Other skills include puck control, passing, shooting, and preliminary game sense. The Bellingham Sportsplex Hockey Academy also offers clinics and classes for more advanced skaters to work on their puck handling & shooting, power skating and over speed and clinics designed for goalie training.
More information can be found on our Learn to Play page.
